Any person who is not licensed as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer by the Minister of Transport may be eligible for Student Membership, provided that such applicant:
- Is currently enrolled in an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's course at a technical school, community college, or similar institution which is recognized by the Minister of Transport, or similar institution and which is recognized by the Minister of Transport.
or
- Is employed as an apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer under the supervision of a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or a company approved by the Minister of Transport for this purpose.
You must make an application, containing information confirming that you are a student enrolled in a recognized Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's course, or that you are an apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.
Student members have the right to attend and speak at all membership meetings, but are not entitled to vote or to hold office in the Association.
Student membership will be terminated if at any time after you qualify for this membership type, you qualify to join AME as a Full Member or an Associate Member. This would normally occur after a maximum of a four year period as an Apprentice/Student member.
